Valarie G. Smith graduated from Western High School in 1976. During her matriculation as a Biology major at Towson State University, she began her over 45 year career in the optical field. After college, Valarie achieved board certification from the American Board of Opticianry garnering successful positions as an Optician, General Manager, Regional Manager, Territory Director and Consultant with some of the major national optical companies and hospitals. She is also a 47 year Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, serving on numerous local, regional and national committees, as well as collegiate advisor for Mu Mu Chapter at Towson University for over 20 years. Her passion for making a difference fuels her commitment to youth, public service and her work as a proud Board Member and Co-Chair of Scholarships with Friends of Poly-Western organization.
